Future Fashion

This month's theme for the paper doll collaboration project is Future Fashion.  I was very inspired by Retro future, like Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers and the Jetsons cartoon.  I love geometric shapes in futuristic designs. I image these outfits in metallic colors with bright neon accents, maybe holographic print. I designed the hair to look like it was floating, it would be some bright unconventional color, perhaps a galaxy purple?  My lines aren't as neat this month, I do not currently have access to my drawing tablet.

The doll and her outfits can be found here http://missmissypaperdolls.blogspot.com/search?q=paper+doll+collaberation

Winnie Winkle

7-13-1935

7-27-1935

not dated

10-13-1935
Sorry I have not been posting as often, busy unpacking boxes and settling in to the new house.  Some things don't always scan well, like these newspaper sheets above.  The paper they are printed on is so thin, you can see through it!  Winne Winkle Fashion Cut-outs are by Brenner and usually have 2 outfits and a few hats.  These are from 1935 but not all are dated.  Probably from the same newspaper as well, judging by the paper quality.

Little Louise's Friends- Cinderella

Alright got the computer set up in my new place (in the living room right now... but hey)  So here's another sheet from Good Housekeeping of one of Little Louise's Friends... This time, it's Cinderella!  The storybook character is shown here with her rag outfit, golden ball gown, pumpkin, and even fairy godmother.  Published around 1909.

Little Louise's Friends-Rastus

This single paper doll sheet features a black child holding a large sunflower.  He has 4 outfits. To some this paper doll may be considered offensive, but I love the artwork.  It's of the times, this was published around 1909.  I looked up the boys name Rastus, which is pretty much a term for "happy black man" character. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rastus

Adventures of Dolly Dingle Paper Dolls

This is another book featuring reprints of the antique Dolly Dingle paper dolls.  This one has many of the "Dolly Dingle Takes up Grand Opera" sets.  Not all of the pages are shown here.  This is published by Dover from 1985.  The colors are bright and the pages are smaller then the orignal magazine dolls published from the Pictorial Review.  The artist is Grace G Drayton.
