Sarah

Here is a two page paper doll from the June/July Issue of Doll Reader 1989.  This may be one of my favorite doll magazine paper dolls that I own.  I really love the artwork, clothing, and doll.  The artist is Sheila Haynes Rauen.  The texture, shading, and patterns on the clothing is very lovely.  The doll has 5 outfits, 4 pairs of shoes and an umbrella.

Hello everyone! I've had an exhausting weekend doing a yard sale.  I gave out free signed copies of this paper doll out to people who had little girls.  I plan on coloring it eventually...  I am using Monday to rest.

At Home (children's book)

example of a story, 4 pictures of Bill making a banjo

So here is a few pages scanned from a lovely vintage children's book.  This book is part of the Sheldon Basic reading Series published by Allyn and Bacon, Inc.  The copyright date is 1957 but it is also dated 1961.  The book includes several simple sentences and a story of pictures.  I did not scan all the images from this book.  It is 47 pages long (48 including index).  The stories include: playing ball with the dog Rags, looking for the lost cat Midnight, helping mom wash the kitchen floor, bubble bath, playing dress up, and other cute simple subjects.  I have several more vintage children's books that I may scan some pages from.

Trisha

Here is a boxed paper doll named Trisha from Whitman 1968.  She is in cut out/played with condition.  I thought it was very interesting that the doll on the box has a different expression then the actual cardboard doll.  Some of her outfits have blue flocking. The clothes are very mod.  This was part of a larger lot purchased from Goodwill's online store.

Robert Tonner Betsy McCall

love the outfit where she is cutting out a paper doll

Here is a lovely version of Betsy McCall based on the Robert Tonner dolls.  This is by the artist Sue Shanaham.  These two pages were in magazine Doll Reader from May 1996.  There are three outfits and accessories for each outfit. This was from a binder of magazine paper dolls I purchased from Ebay.

Little Miss America

Here is a partial cut set of Little Miss America from Saalfield 1941.  There are six little girls and several outfits but the set is incomplete.  This was part of a larger lot purchased from goodwill online store.  The artist is Betty Campbell.  The colors have a very soft pastel feel and are much lighter then the Shackman reproduction set.  The faces of the paper dolls are very sweet.
