Jaunty Juniors

This sewing pattern reminded me a lot of Jaunty Juniors

Here is a lovely set from Lilja company dated 1946.  Jaunty Juniors has four lovely dolls.  This is a cut set and may be missing some items.  I thought I posted this set on the blog some time ago but could not find it. I came across a sewing pattern on Pinterest that reminded me of the set.

vintage gift tags

top Buzza Craftacres

Here are some scans of vintage gift tags from a large lot I purchased on ebay.  There are 7 tags here and many more to scan.  I've included the inside of the tags which are signed.  These are not marked on the back with a company, just numbers so I do not know who published them originally.

Dolly Dingle Identification Guide

Here are three pages from the D.D.I.D. or Dolly Dingle Identification by Joan Carl 1971.  This book includes 2 supplements in a three ring hole punched binder and has black and white photocopies of Dolly Dingle paper dolls to help collectors identify the sets.  This was before the internet when it was easy to look items up.  I think these pages would be great for kids to color.

wrap around bride

Here is a cute wrap around doll from Hallmark 1951.  She is perforated along the sides of her veil so the skirt can be folded back and the doll can stand up.  This was part of a lot of greeting cards I purchased from ebay.

it is signed and written in but I don't mind. This is part of a large lot of vintage cards I purchased from ebay recently

Let's Talk Turkey

Here is a Thanksgiving paper doll designed by me.  I went quickly on this doll to meet the deadline.  The doll's base is from a vintage Barbie ad for Talking Stacey doll from https://www.flickr.com/photos/matthewsutton/3376409822/in/faves-foxybelle/. Two of the outfits are inspired by actual mod Barbie dresses, the rest are from my imagination.  I used Adobe Illustrator and the pre made patterns for the design. The clothing is inspired by the late 60s and includes a Pilgrim dress.  I tried to use fall colors like orange, yellow, red and browns.  There are 7 outfits, a pair of pants to go with her swimsuit and 2 pairs of shoes.

Jane Arden's Wardobe

Here is another Jane Arden newspaper doll from 11-24-1940,  She has four outfits and three hats.  This is an uncut newspaper page.  I have not scanned the whole comic, just the paper doll.  The newspaper has yellowed with age and the paper is somewhat brittle.

Here is Dolly Dingle's Friend Leonora from November 1927.  She is partially cut and is missing 1 outfit, 1 hat, a pair of socks and her dog.  The doll has some wrinkles on the paper.  The main colors are red and green.

Here is volume 2 of the Bookshelf for Boys and Girls:  Happy Hours in Story Land.  This features many stories and lovely illustrations.  I do not have the book on hand (currently on lend to a friend) The copyright is 1955 by The University society, Incorporated.  Not all the pages are shown or all of the illustrations, just some of my favorites in the book. I seem to be drawn to the works of Mary Stevens and Ursula Koering.
